THE BRAM TAYLOR BAND IN CONCERT
FRIDAY 15th APRIL at
CULCHETH SPORTS CLUB
With an excellent stage presence and his fine rich voice, Fellside recording artist Bram Taylor, will be “in concert” accompanied by Nick Peak and Dave Howard, both solo entertainers in their own right. Bram sings acappella and to guitar or duet concertina. All three sing traditional and contemporary material playing guitar and a variety of other instruments.
This is a unique opportunity for music lovers to hear artists with worldwide reputations at Folk Clubs, Arts Centers and Concert venues in the UK, USA, Canada and Europe. The Concert will be informal, with bar available. Tickets at £8-50/head can be obtained from behind the bar at the Culcheth Sports Club or from Rotary Club members (Contact Bob Connop 01925 765194 or email firstname.lastname@example.org) All proceeds will go to charitable causes.
Finally we would like to thank the three teams from Culcheth and Birchwood High Schools who entered the Rotary national “Youth Speaks” competition and congratulate the Birchwood High School team who recently won their first heat and now progress to the District heats at Frodsham on 5th March. We wish them the best of luck. Our thanks go to all the teachers who coached these teams. This one of many Rotary involvements with schools, the most recent being an “Excitement of Science” lecture at Liverpool University on the subject of the Hadron Collider which was attended by over 100 students from both our local high schools and many more from further afield.
We are always looking for new members to help with this work but, if you do are not able to commit as much as you might like to, why not become “A Friend of Rotary” and assist as and when you are able. You will make new friends and gain a wider social life whilst helping with our charitable work. Contact Bernard Groom on 01925 733893, or visit the Rotary District 1285 website. We are also on Facebook and Twitter. You will be most welcome
