Andrew Renshaw, Events Manager, with help from all the Committee volunteers, has been busy coordinating this years programme and is promising a varied and exciting programme of events.
Closing the show each night on the festival field the main marquee will showcase a great line up, with Swing Commanders guaranteed to get you up dancing to 40's and 50's swing and jump jazz on Friday night; soul and funk sensations Tripitaka, playing disco floor fillers from favourites such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross and Sister Sledge on Saturday night; and as a finale Abba's Angels are performing a captivating and authentic tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time on Sunday night.
Other events organised in and around Stockton Heath and neighbouring villages include:
On Thursday - the third annual primary school gospel concert at Hill Cliffe Baptist Church; Choral Concert at St Thomas' Church; and a great line up at the Comedy Night at the Slug and Lettuce.
On Friday - an illustrated talk on Local History at Appleton Parish Hall; musical theatre classics from Gemini Musical Theatre Company at St Thomas' Church Hall; and Library Theatre Company invite you to enjoy two monologues from writer Alan Bennett at Appleton Parish Hall
On Saturday - Illyria Theatre Company present an open-air production of “A Midsummer Night's Dream” at the lovely Grappenhall Heys Walled Garden; enjoy Poetry Reading in Stockton Heath Library; or pay a visit to the Thelwall and Grappenhall Model Railway. Stepping Out, local vocal harmony group are performing at 7.30pm in St Thomas' Church Hall.
On Sunday - buy fresh fruit and veg from Red Lane Allotments; take a trip along the Bridgewater Canal from Thorn Marine; enjoy story telling, circus skills music and dance workshops at the Scout Hall; and Festival Songs of Praise at St Thomas' Church.
If you're a budding artist or amateur photographer you can enter for prizes the Art Exhibition held throughout the Festival at St Thomas' Church or the Photography Competition; and who could forget the village scarecrow competition?
