The 2nd Rossendale Scout Band, based in Bacup, has been entertaining audiences since its formation in 1963. In total there are over a 100 members who make up the Training Band, The Junior Band and The Senior Band. There is is also a Silver Band for those parents and grandparents of players who have decided that they would now like to play an instrument.
On 9th May at St. Wilfred’s Church in Grappenhall the Senior Concert Brass Band will be playing a varied repertoire of traditional and modern brass music. The band have a full programme of engagements throughout 2015. In recent times they have played alongside the Black Dyke, Fodens, Grimethorpe Colliery, Brighouse and Rastrick Bands. They have appeared at Windsor Castle for HM Queen Elizabeth and at many fine concert venues including The Bridgewater Hall, The Royal Northern College of Muisic and at Cologne Cathedral.
All proceeds from the event will be going to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
