Stockton Heath village and surroundings will once more be transformed by rainbow colours and vibrant culture. Building on the huge success of the 2017 Festival, the organisers are excited to share the variety of events which they hope will offer something for everyone. Many activities are planned which are not included here and food, drink, and art and craft stalls will return to the Festival Field.
New cut groups fourth open day success
A talk given by well known local historian Mike Kenwright featuring many photographs of Woolston, both in a bygone era and present day, delighted a big audience at Alford Hall in April at the New Cut Heritage and Ecology groups fourth open day event.
Culcheth Players are busy rehearsing for their forthcoming June production, Agatha Christie’s A Murder is Announced. 2018 is the 60th anniversary of the formation of the Players. The play was chosen as it was one which past members had presented many years ago.
Over twenty volunteers of all ages from 10 up to 70 took to the New Cut Canal tow path in late March as a major contribution to the annual big spring clean up of litter and fly tipped rubbish.
Croft Village Memorial Hall are, in what’s a first for the village, staging a beer festival on Friday 15th (6pm – 11pm) and Saturday 16th (12 noon – 11pm) June, in the Memorial Hall on Mustard Lane.
Talented catering student Mikolaj Mozul has cause for celebration after taking home the silver medal in the ACF Commis Chef of the Year competition.
Mikolaj, who is studying level 2 culinary skills and professional food and beverage service at Warrington & Vale Royal College, narrowly missed out on taking first place, with judges stating how close it was between gold and silver.
